Adding forms to collect contacts

Learn how to create and customize email and SMS signup forms to grow your contact list effectively.

Forms are a powerful tool on KOMI that allow you to collect contact information from your audience, whether it’s for an email newsletter, exclusive content access, or special promotions. This guide will walk you through the steps to create, customize, and publish forms on your KOMI page, helping you to build and engage your contact list more effectively.

Step 1: Setting Up an Email/SMS Signup Form

Creating an email or SMS signup form is the first step in growing your contact list. KOMI makes it easy to set up and customize these forms directly on your profile page.

How to Set Up a Signup Form:

To begin, navigate to the Content section within your KOMI dashboard. Start by going to Profile Builder and then clicking on Content. To add a new signup form, click on Add Content.

Next, select Email/SMS Signup from the menu. This will allow you to start building a form for collecting your visitors' contact details.

Customize your form by clicking on the different elements within it. You can change the form name, add a description, and upload an image. While only the form name is mandatory, adding a description helps clarify what the user is consenting to, such as "Subscribe to my newsletter for updates and special offers."

After customizing your form, click Next to proceed to the field editing stage.

To edit the form fields, look to the right-hand side of each field where you’ll find an “eye” icon. Click it to hide or show the field based on your preferences.

You can also mark fields as “required” to ensure that they must be filled out before submission.

Additionally, you can reorder the fields by dragging and dropping them to your preferred order.

Once your form is fully set up, click Submit to save your changes. When you're ready for the form to go live, publish your KOMI page so that visitors can start submitting their contact details through the form.

💡 Tip: Be clear and transparent in your form’s description to ensure users understand what they’re signing up for. This builds trust and ensures higher engagement.

Step 2: Incentivizing Data Submissions with Advanced Forms

To increase engagement and encourage more users to share their contact details, you can offer incentives through more advanced forms like Secret Link forms and Secret Code forms. These forms provide access to exclusive content or promotions in exchange for their contact information.

How to Set Up a Secret Link Form:

To add a Secret Link form, start by navigating to the Content section within your KOMI dashboard. Go to Profile Builder and click on Content. Next, click Add Content and choose Secret Link from the menu. This will allow you to start building your Secret Link form.

Once in the form editor, customize the form by naming it and adding a description that informs users of the exclusive content they will access after submitting their details. In the Secret Link field, paste the URL where users will be directed after they submit the form. This could be a download link, a private video, or another exclusive resource that provides value to your audience.

After you’ve customized your form, click Submit to save it. To make the form live, publish your page so that visitors can start accessing the exclusive content through the Secret Link.

💡 Tip: Use this form type to reward your audience for their engagement, creating a win-win situation where they receive valuable content in return for sharing their contact details.

How to Set Up a Secret Code Form:

To add a Secret Code form, start by navigating to the Content section within your KOMI dashboard. Go to Profile Builder and click on Content. Next, click Add Content and select Secret Code from the menu to begin creating your Secret Code form.

Once in the form editor, customize the form by giving it a clear name and adding a description that informs users about the promotional code or discount they will receive after submitting the form. In the Secret Code field, enter the specific code that users will receive upon submission.

After you’ve customized your form, click Submit to save it. To make the form live and available to your audience, publish your page.

💡 Tip: Use Secret Code forms to boost engagement by offering discounts or special offers, which can significantly increase your contact list and encourage conversions.

Step 3: Driving Traffic to Your KOMI Page

To maximize the effectiveness of your forms, it’s crucial to bring visitors to your KOMI page. The more traffic you drive, the more contacts you can collect. Here are some strategies to help you increase visibility:

Regularly promote your KOMI page on your social media channels to drive traffic and engagement. Highlight the value of signing up, such as offering exclusive content, discounts, or updates. Use eye-catching visuals and strong calls to action to encourage your audience to click and visit your page.

Promote in Emails
Include a link to your KOMI page in your email newsletters or other communications. Emphasize any ongoing promotions or unique content available through your forms to entice recipients to visit and sign up.

Announce Promotions
Run special promotions to attract more visitors to your KOMI page. For instance, you can offer a limited-time discount or exclusive content for new signups. Announce these promotions across all your channels, including social media, email, and any other platforms you use.

Add the Link to Your Website
If you have a website or blog, add a prominent link or banner directing visitors to your KOMI page. Place it in a high-traffic area, such as the header, footer, or sidebar, to maximize visibility and encourage more clicks.

💡 Tip: Consistently driving traffic to your KOMI page through these channels ensures a steady flow of new contacts, making your email and SMS marketing efforts more successful.

Conclusion

By effectively using KOMI’s forms, you can significantly grow your contact list while providing value to your audience. Whether you’re collecting emails for a newsletter or offering exclusive content or discounts, these forms help you engage with your audience in meaningful ways.
