Create a Segment

Segments allow you to group your subscribers based on specific criteria, ensuring that the right message reaches the right people.

Here’s how to create a segment:

  1. Go to the Segments Page: Under Audience & Campaigns, click on Segments.
  2. Create a New Segment: Click “New Segment”. Give it a name that reflects the segment’s purpose (e.g., “Engaged Subscribers”).
  3. Define Your Criteria: Use filters to define who belongs in this segment. For instance, you could create a segment for subscribers in a specific location or those who’ve clicked a particular link in your previous emails.

Defining your segment criteria

  • Filter Groups: KOMI allows you to set up filters to define who belongs in your segment. You can use multiple filters to create very specific groups. For example, you might want to create a segment of subscribers who:
    • Are located in a specific region (e.g., "Country is United States").
    • Have interacted with a specific campaign (e.g., "Clicked a link in the last 30 days").
    • Are tagged with certain interests (e.g., "Tagged as Webinar Attendees").
  • AND/OR Logic: Use “AND” logic to narrow down your segment (e.g., subscribers who are both in France and tagged as VIP customers). Use “OR” logic to broaden it (e.g., subscribers who are either in France or in Germany).
  • Exclusion Criteria: You can also exclude certain subscribers from a segment. For instance, you might want to exclude subscribers who have already purchased a product from a promotional campaign.
  • Dynamic Segments: Remember, segments in KOMI are dynamic, meaning they automatically update as subscribers' data changes. This ensures that your campaigns always target the most relevant audience.
